Headlines such as these are not as fictional as you might think. The need to determine the presence of lead based paint (LBP) in buildings you manage is a very real issue. Those of you with NYC condos and cooperatives built in the early 1960's and prior (pre wars) need to pay close attention to this.

More and more management companies are requiring tenant / shareholders to determine if LBP exists in their units before they undertake a renovation, small or large. The paint in place in hallways also should be investigated, as plumbing repairs requiring the opening of walls or instance will create dust conditions.

AMG Environmental provides X-Ray Florescence (XRF) screening services. XRF screening determines if lead paint exists on a surface before it is inadvertently disturbed. A detailed report is generated, allowing for proper decision making to occur before mistakes are made.
